Meeting Venue: ACTRIS Week 2024 will take place in Matera, Southern Italy. Tuesday and Wednesday sessions will take place on the premises of the Università degli Studi della Basilicata, Via Lanera 20, 75100 Matera. Thursday workshops will take place at the House of Emerging Technologies (Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti di Matera), Via San Rocco 1, 75100, Matera. |
Aim |
The aim of the ACTRIS Week 2024 is to bring the ACTRIS Community together, to update the community about the most recent and ongoing ACTRIS progress and challenges, and to provide a platform for various ACTRIS and ACTRIS-adjacent groups and communities to get together. ACTRIS Week 2024 will set the stage for the community Data Centre session and the next ACTRIS National Facility Technical and Scientific Forum. |

Social Activities |
A guided excursion of the Sassi di Matera will take place on Tuesday late afternoon after the plenary session. The excursion takes about 2-2.5 hours, and the attendance is free of charge. Conference dinner will take place at the Masseria Fortificata San Francesco on the evening of Wednesday November 6th. The price of the dinner is graciously covered by CNR. |
Transport |
Matera is located in the region of Basilicata, in Southern Italy. The nearest airport with regular scheduled passenger flights is Bari Airport (BRI), which is located about an hour's drive away (65 km). There are several daily direct bus services between Bari Airport and Matera. Buses also run directly between Bari and Matera. Naples Airport (NAP), located 250 km away, is another option with a higher number of passenger flights. Bus connections from Naples to Matera are available, albeit quite limited, so renting a car is advised if flying to/from NAP. Information about how to get to/from Matera using various modes of public transportation can be found in great detail here. |
