Call for Associated Partners

ACTRIS invites all research institutions active in the field of aerosols, clouds, and trace gases, to become Associated Partner in the project.

The ACTRIS call for Associated Partners is an open and contiuous call!

Associate Partners are expected to participate actively in the network and help to achieve its objectives:
  • of providing long-term high-quality data relevant to climate and air quality research throughout a European ground-based network of stations equipped with advanced atmospheric probing instrumentation for aerosols, clouds and short-lived gas-phase species.
  • of strengthening high-quality collaboration and enhance training of young scientists and researchers from eastern European and non-EU developing countries in the field of atmospheric observation.
  • of promoting the development of new technologies for atmospheric observation of aerosols, clouds and trace gases through close partnership with EU companies.
Associated Partners are expected to contribute their expertise towards the goals and activities of ACTRIS. At the same time, they will benefit from a set of activities that ACTRIS will undertake within its networking, joint research and transnational access and service activities such as monitoring of long-term atmospheric variables and data dissemination, access to facilities, workshops, training of researchers, web-based information, etc.

Associated Partners will have to to cover the costs of research and participation in ACTRIS activities themselves. However, where the contribution of associated Partners is seen to be essential for the implementation of the programme and to ensure performance and continuation of the work needed in the network, some support may be available through the national ACTRIS partners, e.g., for the participation in workshops and meetings.

Any institution wishing to associate with ACTRIS is invited to submit an application. The admittance of Associated Partners will be based on the coherence of their proposed activities with the project's objectives. The associated Partner will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement in order to protect any confidential information available under ACTRIS.

How to apply

Institutions interested to associate with the project should submit an application form, which should be sent to the ACTRIS Coordination Office.

The admittance of an associated Partner is based on the coherence of the proposed activities with the project's objectives, and is subject to the approval by the General Assembly upon proposal of the Scientific Steering Committee. Associated Partners may contribute to any of the networking activities, joint research activities, transnational access and service activities.

Upon acceptance of the proposal, the associated Partner institute will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and design a member to represent the associated Partners in the project (by signature of an AP agreement).

Associated Partners might be required to report to the appropriate workpackage leader on results obtained from their participation in the project.
